Homes for Sale at The Dominion

The Dominion is an exclusive gated community known to have the most expensive real estate in San Antonio and its surrounding areas.  Around since the 1980s, the homes range from garden homes to luxurious mansion estates from a variety of builders.  The cost of living in the Dominion can range from $300,000 to millions of dollars.

It is located in the Texas Hill Country on the far northwest side of San Antonio but is only a 20-30 minute drive to downtown.  The Dominion is known to be home to not only a number of local personalities, but also country music star George Strait, retired NBA talent David Robinson, and professional wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin.  There is a mandatory homeowner’s association, which organizes the annual Parade of Homes and has over 1,000 members.

The Dominion features many great subdivisions within the guarded gates such as Cottage Estates at the Dominion, The Gardens at The Dominion, The Sanctuary at the Dominion, The Reserve at the Dominion, The Legends at the Dominion,  The Cloisters of Dominion, Renaissance at the Dominion, The New Estates at the Dominion, Golf Course Estates at the Dominion and The Chateau at the Dominion.

The Dominion not only has 24-hour gate acess with a manned guard house, but also private security patrol.  It also surrounds a world-class golf course designed by the Dominion Country Club.  The Dominion Country Club has hosted the annual PGA Senior Gold event for the past 17 years, offers golf, tennis, and swimming lessons and facilities, and catering services for weddings, corporate events, and member occasions.

The Dominion was once the place to live if you were affluent in San Antonio but is now neighbored by lavish communities including Fair Oaks Ranch, Anaqua Springs, and Scenic Oaks.  Once somewhat isolated from metropolitan San Antonio, shopping and dining has become convenient with the presence of the Rim and the Shops at La Cantera.  This area is flourishing with a number of businesses accomodating residents of the Dominion and its upscale neighbors.
